JAMES Verdun Rock died peacefully at the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Wednesday, June 17, aged 83 years.

The dearly loved brother of Pat and brother-in-law Tony.

He is very sadly missed by his nephews, nieces, family and friends.

A private family funeral service will be held, due to the current restrictio­ns.

ANN PATRICIA BOND

MRS Ann Patricia Bond, (Pat), of Lodge Street, Accrington, died on Saturday, June 20, aged 73 years.

Ann was a retired catering assistant at

Hyndburn Leisure Centre.

She enjoyed reading, going out for meals, shopping, dogs, dog rescue, for which she supported a lot of groups, spending time with family, holidays in the Lake District at a holiday cottage with her family, and cruises.

Wife of Harvey Bond, mother of Cassie Bond, sister of Gwen Wilson, aunt of Tara Wilson, great-grand-aunt to Tiana Walsh and sister-in-law to Glenn and Janice.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2pm at Accrington Cemetery.

Flowers welcome, donations if desired to go to Pendle Dogs in Need.

PHILIP Storey, aged 68, of Clayton Le Moors passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 21.

A beloved husband of almost five decades to Janet Storey, Honorary Alderman of Hyndburn.

A dearly loved father to Beth, Jennet, Katherine, Matthew and Daniel, loved father-inlaw to Adrian, Andrew,

Jon, Anna and Simone, a cherished grandfathe­r to Katherine, Oliver, Joseph, Rhian, Bridie, Malachai and Niamh.

Philip was born in Stackstead­s and raised in Great Harwood.

He joined the army at the age of 19 and served for 22 years, attaining the rank of Warrant Officer Class 1 in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps.

He completed two tours of Northern Ireland, a tour with the United Nations in

Cyprus and served in Operation Desert Storm during the 1st Gulf War.

Philip served as the Mayor of Hyndburn’s Consort in 2005, supporting his wife Janet who was the Mayor of Hyndburn.

Philip will be remembered with love.

In keeping with current restrictio­ns the funeral will be a private service by invitation only. The service will be streamed live for all those who cannot attend.

SONS Paul, Michael, Ian, grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren are sad to announce the passing of the much loved Mrs Joan Hurst (nee Campbell) aged 92 at Royal Blackburn Hospital on Thursday, June 18.

Joan’s career included a long spell as Home Help Organiser for the Hyndburn district and she was the wife of the chairman of Great Harwood Urban District Council (1965/66) John ( Jack) Hurst (dec’d).
