THE pupils of St Paul’s Church of England Primary School, Oswaldtwistle, both in school and at home, have been working on lots of things, including using recycling materials in order to decorate the school prayer and reflection garden.

The children made and painted a cross from reclaimed wood and made bird feeders and extra large daisy chains.

They also planted sun flower seeds, played board games with squirty cream and carried on studying hard at home with support from both their teachers and their parents.

Headteacher, Gina Smith, said: “We are very proud of every one of our pupils.

“They have demonstrated such resilience throughout this strange time and we are all very much looking forward to more children coming back to school.”

The children have also been enjoying taking part in Zoom meetings.

Headteacher Gina Smith said: “It’s been fabulous to be able to reunite so many children with their friends via the power of technology.”

Year 1 pupils listened to the story of the ‘The Worry Monster’ together and were then challenged to make their very own worry monsters.

One child, who is self isolating, even made an extra one for Gina’s desk in school.

Pupils have also started work on their ‘Lockdown Memory Tree’.

This whole school display will be a way of marking the impact of lockdown and sharing some of their experiences as a St Paul’s family.

The display will showcase lots of the children’s artwork over the lockdown period and the whole school community will be contributing to it.
