£10,000 payouts to help local firms

-

HYNDBURN council has begun making payments of up to £10,000 under The Local Business Discretionary Grants Fund.

A total of 160 applications were made by the deadline of June 18, and successful applicants will begin to receive their grants from this week.

The Local Business Discretionary Grant Fund is administered by Hyndburn B Council, and is aimed at businesses not eligible for the recent Small Business Grant Fund or the Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Fund.

The grants will help support local businesses by providing much needed funding to help them meet the cost of continuing to run their business during this difficult time.

As the funding is limited, priority has been given to those in shared office space, market traders, bed and breakfasts and other businesses suffering from a significant drop in income while still facing continuing high fixed property costs. Unsuccessful applicants will be contacted with details of any further options they may have.
