THE staff and children of St Paul’s CE Primary School, Oswaldtwistle, have been endeavouring to celebrate the end of term and share as much as possible in the achievements of their pupils.
The Year 6 leavers class of 2020 were able to meet up together as a class for one last time and share in a socially distanced class picnic.
Headteacher Gina Smith, said: “It was lovely to see so many of our children back together as a class for one last time.
“We celebrated with certificates and leavers’ gifts and shared together in a trip down memory lane with a special ‘Class of 2020’ video.
“Also, a huge well done to two of our Year 6 leavers, Kat and Owen. Throughout their 7 years at St Paul’s they have managed to achieve an impeccable attendance record.
“Well done and keep this going at your new high school.”
Mr Fielding and Paula Swainston also gave a huge thank you to all of the Y6 Well being Ambassadors.
Pupils in school and at home took part in a rather different looking whole school sports day.
Throughout the day there were lots of physical challenges to take part in and teachers said it was lovely to see children supporting one another from a safe social distance.
They also continued to enjoy their Zoom meetings, enjoyed an interactive game of bingo, redesigned their prayer garden, and have been reading descriptions for some of the magical creatures in Viking myths.
From these descriptions, the children drew their representations of what they thought the beasts looked like.
Finally, Miss Broadley and the children in school have continued working on their new ‘Lockdown Memory Tree’, adding inspirational leaves and photos.
