Accrington Observer

LAST week it was announced by Health Secretary Matt Hancock

-

that areas within East Lancashire and Greater Manchester, including Hyndburn, will be subject to stricter measures to help reduce the spread of Coronavirus.

The restrictions, which are now in place until further notice, are here to protect our wider community.

Measures include a ban on meeting with those outside of your household, or your bubble, inside and in private gardens.

We do understand that these rules are disruptive for many people.

We would like to reassure residents that key information and any changes to these rules will be communicated to you as quickly as possible.

We also appreciate there may be questions over exactly what you can and cannot do.

Please visit hyndburnbc.gov.uk and click on the Covidi-19 button, here we have added some answers to questions and also links to the official rules from Central Government.

Through working together, supporting each other and sharing this vital information we can prevent further transmission within Hyndburn and be one more step along the road to recovery. Please work with us and follow the measures in place.

We are also pleased to have welcomed two test centres to the borough in the last few days.

These test centres have different systems in place and purposes, please familiarise yourself with the information before travelling or booking an appointment.

We are urging all residents with symptoms to get a test immediately.

You can book online at nhs.uk/coronavirus or call 119.

We also have a pop-up test centre in Hyndburn which is open to anyone, with or without symptoms and no appointment is needed.

For the current information on this testing facility please visit hyndburnbc.gov.uk and look at our recent news items.

In this very quick moving situation, it is important everyone stays up to date with information.

Together we would like to thank all of Hyndburn for your continued sacrifices being made by all.

You are protecting our vulnerable residents, our NHS, our businesses and our borough.

Please look after each other and check that your family, friends and neighbours are okay during this difficult time.

Our Hyndburn Hub remains open and active for those who need urgent support. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you, or someone you know, is suffering and please let others know help is available.

Providing essential and urgent support, the Hyndburn Hub can be contacted 7-days a week.
