KATHLEEN CASE

MRS Kathleen Case, of Lancaster Avenue, Accrington, died on Monday, July 27, aged 80.

She started working at Carnlough Hotel in Ireland before moving to England where she worked at English Electric, Clayton-le-Moors, for several years before starting her family.

Kathleen worked regularly as a barmaid at the Volunteers Arms and Conservati­ve Club in Clayton-le-Moors.

She also worked for some time on the housewives shift at Rists, Wires and Cables, Accrington, and also at Westview Printers from where she took retirement.

Kathleen attended fun afternoons with good friends at the Irish Democratic League Club in Haslingden.

Along with her family she enjoyed many theatre trips organised by St Joseph’s Church social committee and was an active member of St Josephs R/C Church, Accrington.

She loved her

Blackpool trips and holidays with the gang and many great Saturday evenings out at Clayton Conservati­ve Club.

She was a keen enthusiast of puzzles, quizzes and crosswords.

Kathleen died suddenly and unexpected­ly at her home.

She was the loving wife of the late Peter Case, dearly loved mum of

Paul, Sharon and Shaun, mother-in-law to Susan and Billy, devoted nan to Kerry, Charlotte, Elliot, Tom, Sarah and Heather, also a great-nanna to Lincoln, and a much loved sister to Terri, Ann and Joe.

She was a wonderful friend to many and will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered, by all who knew her.

Her funeral will take place on Tuesday, August 11, with Requiem Mass at 10am at St Josephs R/C Church, Accrington, conducted by Fr Simon Stamp, followed by burial at Dill Hall Cemetery, Church, Accrington.

Family flowers only please, donations are requested for the British Heart Foundation or Cancer Research UK c/o funeral director.
