MICHAEL PENNY

-

MR Michael Raymond Penny, known as Mick, passed away peacefully at home, with close family, on Monday, July 27, aged 62.

Mick was the devoted husband of his late wife Brenda, loving brother and best friend to his younger sister Judith , beloved son of his mother Daphne and late father Raymond and proud step-father to Darren.

He was a dear brotherin-law to Lynn, Gail, Wendy and Clive and caring uncle to all his nephews and nieces.

Mick will be dearly missed by all his friends and family.

Mick started work as an apprentice plumber with Jack Haworth in Oswaldtwistle and after he completed his apprenticeship he undertook various roles with local manufacturing companies.

He went on to establish his own plumbing business.

Although he was a bit of a workaholic Mick enjoyed his home life with Brenda and occasional holidays when she could entice him away.

Although sometimes a man of few words, Mick will be fondly remembered for his wicked sense of humour and kind heart.

One of Micks passions was his love of music, his collection was impressive and covered all genres.

Both he and Brenda were donors to children’s charity NSPCC, so choosing a charity which combines helping children and teaching them music seems appropriate.

A celebration of his life is due to be held at Accrington Crematorium on Friday, August 7 at 1.40pm, officiated by celebrant Kathy Unsworth.

Family flowers only, in memory of Mick’s love of music, if desired can be made to Trust Music c/o funeral director.

Funeral Director: Hyndburn Funeral Services, Queens Road, Accrington.
