BBC AKIN TO OOZLUM BIRD

-

THE BBC, once our respected national and international broadcaster, has for the past 20 years or more, been gradually drifting away from mainstream British thought with regard to many things.

Its attitude towards what it sees as ‘minorities’ is obsessive.

Its culture of ‘inclusiveness’ and ‘diversity’ at the expense of truly representational broadcasting has led itself in ever decreasing circles and has joined the legendary Oozlum bird in its own political correctness.

It has long since shed any pretence of being a benign ‘auntie’ who knows best. Its lack of representational ethos was demonstrated by its role as ‘remain central’ after the EU referendum.

The BBC’s attitude can be demonstrated by its use of the term ‘migrants successfully crossing the channel’ when the correct term is ‘illegal economic migrants using illegal and dangerous means to leave a moderately highly populated country (France and any of the other countries they have passed through) which could provide them with everything they need, especially asylum, to get to a highly overpopulated country.’

The sooner the BBC learns to stand on its own two feet and stop ripping off the UK TV licence holders, the better.

Privatise as a matter of urgency then I can enjoy proper adverts and not the endlessly repeated self-promoting hogwash it broadcasts in its selfcreated filler time between its programmes.

Mr Entwistle (Letters, August 14) needs to do a bit more reading and circumspect viewing (not just TV) before calling anyone ‘naive’.
