Coun June Harrison

Mayor of Hyndburn

-

LIKE you I’ve been adjusting to the new stricter measures introduced in Hyndburn and East Lancashire to stop the spread of coronavirus, after a rise in cases locally.

These are difficult times, it’s hard for us all, it means more disruption in our lives, but it’s so important that we all stick to the rules and play our part to stop the spread of this terrible disease and protect our community.

Things have been extremely fast paced and it’s a constantly changing situation, so please have a look at the Council’s website and follow on our social media feeds to keep up to date with the latest information.

One of the easiest ways you can help us control the spread of coronavirus is to get a test.

It’s quick, easy, painless and free and if we have as many people as possible getting tested we can move further along the road to recovery.

In Hyndburn there are three ways to get tested: you can order one by post, go to a drive-in centre or attend a pop-up facility.

By getting a test you can protect your family, friends and our whole community.

It is really important that if you get a positive result you follow the instructions and isolate.

For the current information about testing please visit hyndburnbc. gov.uk and look at our recent news items as test centres may move to other locations within the borough.

As you know I’m a big supporter of our Hyndburn Hub so please remember its still open and active for anyone who needs urgent support.

Get in touch if you, or someone you know, is suffering and please let others know help is available.

Providing essential and urgent support, the Hyndburn Hub can be contacted seven days a week.

To help the team get back to you as quickly as possible please email in the first instance: enquiries@hyndburnbc.gov.uk, visit Hyndburn Council’s website, or call 01254 388111.

Please keep supporting our wonderful local shops and businesses who have been here for us throughout the pandemic.

I want to thank them and everyone for your continued sacrifice and support. By playing your part you are protecting others in our community and helping to keep yourself and your family safe.
