Keep following safety advice

-

THE enhanced measures in Hyndburn have now been lifted after an announcement by Health Secretary Matt Hancock which means local guidance is now in line with national measures.

This progress is due to the hard work and sacrifices from many people and businesses in our borough, thank you to all.

By working together, following the rules and getting tests we have reduced the rate of transmission of Covid-19 in Hyndburn and are one more step along the road to recovery.

This is fantastic news; however, we must not become complacent.

The virus is still a threat and to avoid any further restrictions it is essential we all continue to follow the safety advice.

One of the best ways to prevent spread of Coronavirus is by thoroughly washing hands and avoiding touching your face.

Everyone needs to wash their hands with soap and water before and after

A joint statement from Coun Miles Parkinson, Leader of Hyndburn Council, Coun Marlene Haworth, Leader of the Opposition, and Sara Britcliffe, MP for Hyndburn and Haslingden leaving their house, plus as much as they can throughout the day.

By social distancing from those not in your household or bubble, wearing a mask in all public places, unless you are exempt, and by accessing our testing facilities we can protect the wider community and vulnerable residents.

It is essential we all support each other as much as possible.

Along with staying safe we can also help families, businesses and our economy by shopping locally.

Everything you need to buy can be found in Hyndburn.

Alongside Accrington we have many townships with great offerings on their high streets, please explore them safely.

If we all #ThinkHyndburn, shop locally and support independent retailers we can save jobs and keep money within the borough.

We understand many will be suffering hardship due to the ongoing pandemic and we would like to reassure everyone that our Hyndburn Hub remains open and active for those who need urgent support.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you, or someone you know, is suffering and please let others know help is available.

Providing essential and urgent support, the Hyndburn Hub can be contacted seven-days a week.

To help the team get back to you as quickly as possible please email in the first instance: enquiries@hyndburnbc. gov.uk visit Hyndburn Council’s website, or call: 01254 388 111
