BRIAN WOLFENDEN

-

MR Brian Wolfenden, of Rishton and formerly of Newchurch Road, Higher Cloughfold, Rossendale, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at home on Friday, August 28, aged 77.

For the most part of his life Brian worked as a Wagon Driver for Rossendale Borough Council, up until taking his retirement after 27 years.

In his spare time and during his retirement he loved going away on holiday to Turkey and on cruises with his late wife Margaret, and when younger he also enjoyed a round of golf.

But he was probably best known as a familiar face in the local pubs, the Rishton Conservative Club and The Workman’s, where he greatly enjoyed meeting up for a pint with the lads.

Brian was a dearly loved husband of the late Margaret, a much loved dad of Brian, a treasured grandad of Luke, Gemma and Jack, a dear brother of Tom, brother-in-law of Audrey and uncle to Graham and Ian.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3pm on Thursday, September 10 at Accrington Crematorium for immediate family and close friends only (this is due to the current restrictions).

The service can also be viewed via live webcast; please check the B&H website for details the day before.

A drive past the Tory Club for anyone wishing to pay their last respects will be at approximately 2.30pm.

Family flowers only please, but donations in memory of Brian are being received for the British Heart Foundation and can be made by phone, by post, or by envelope drop off at the funeral home.

Funeral director: Paul Barton of Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service.
