OBITUARIES PETER BELL

MR Peter Bell, of Sandy Lane, Accrington, died at home on Tuesday, September 22, aged 63.

Peter was a motor mechanic at Gilbraiths, a car valeter at Walker Farrimond, then a car valeter at BMW

Blackburn.

He was a member of Accrington Stanley Supporters Club (OASSC), and a server and sidesman at St John’s Church, Accrington.

He enjoyed walking, model railways, watching Accrington Stanley both home and away, holidays in England, especially Hemsby, in Norfolk, and looking after his grandchild­ren.

He leaves wife Jayne, son Simon, daughter Nicola, son-in-law Danny, grandchild­ren Freya, Kasper, and Peyton, brother John and sister-in-law Teresa, niece Jennifer, and nephew Martin.

The funeral will be held on Monday, October 5, at 11am at Accrington Crematoriu­m, led by Kevin Logan.

Family flowers only please.

PEACEFULLY on Tuesday, September 22, after a long illness bravely borne, at Blackburn Hospital, Mr Len South, of Broadfield Road, Accrington, aged 82.

Adored husband and best friend of Jean, dear father of Gary, Brian, Michele and son-in-law Carl.

He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him - family, friends and neighbours. He was a very gentle man we were proud to call ours.

A funeral cortege will leave from his home on Broadfield Road at 9.15am, with a service at St John’s Church, Accrington at 9.45am, followed by cremation at Accrington Crematoriu­m at 10.20am, on Tuesday, October 6.

Family flowers only, but donations to Cancer Research UK in his memory. Would friends please meet at his home at 9.15am where the cortege will assemble, due to COVID restrictio­ns.
