MARGARET Mary Howson nee Lord died on Wednesday, November 18, peacefully after a long illness patiently Bourne at Haslingden Hall Care Home formerly of Lancaster Drive, Claytonle-Moors, with her devoted much-loved daughter

Catherine by her side. Margaret, aged 81 years, was the dearly loved wife of the late John, much loved and sadly missed mum of Catherine, Neil and Linda, dear mother-in-law of Alan, Judith and Paul, a loving grandma of Mark, Laney, Lee, Erin, Nicky, Georgia, Rachael and Michael also a devoted great-grandma of Travis and Ari, much loved doggy mummy to Benji, cherished sister to Bernard and the late Michael, Joseph and John and their partners Christine, Mary, Connie and Moira, and a loyal friend to many.

Margaret started her working life as a shop assistant at Annie Charles, before moving onto employment with the Co-op and Brooke Bond OXO on the evening shift, where she made many friends and her closest friend Edna.

She worked around her growing family and also enjoyed her role as a welfare assistant, before retiring from the job she found most rewarding, taking her much loved children to and from school.

Margaret lived for her family and loved time spent with them and her Yorkshire Terrier dogs.

She loved to explore with her husband visiting Germany, Belgium and Denmark.

Margaret was always very well presented and smart; she loved her clothes and shopping trips with her daughter Linda.

Margaret loved attending St Mary’s Church and in later life when she could no longer attend enjoyed her visits from Father Tansey, her much loved parish priest of St Mary’s RC Church. Margaret was supported in later life with care from Townfield House and Haslingden Hall Care Home; her family give special thanks to Ana, Anne, Denise, Chris, Caroline and Dawn.

A private family funeral service will be held at St Mary’s RC Church, followed by Interment at Dill Hall Cemetery.
