BEDSIT plans for disused Accrington pub set to be rejected. Hyndburn Council have recommended the scheme for 13 bedsit flats at the former Britannia in Nuttall Street be refused planning permission (page 16):

Kate Conboy: 13! The plans show the single rooms aren’t big enough..

Under new government plans this application would bypass council planning and be most probably permitted. Hope this, and the new proposals get rejected! Jodi Clements People need affordable homes. Not a tiny room as there is nothing else available/affordable. Surely 4 nice flats would be better.

INSIDE Accrington’s first ever ‘bubble waffle’ dessert cafe opening this week. 21 Jumpin’ Waffles will open at noon on Friday, December 4:

Sharon Jackson: Looks interesting.

Kyle Corke: Really bad time to open a business right now, since we gonna be in lockdowns for the rest of our lives. Stephen Mcloughlin: If you are hungry too, you can order a double bubble waffle.

PUBS, football stadiums and cinemas may ban people unless they have Covid vaccine. Health minister Nadhim Zahawi said an “immunity passport” could mean people are asked to prove they’ve had the jab to enter some premises (November 30):

Dawn Day:

Such a system cannot work, due to the way in which the vaccine will roll out a vast majority of the population would be unfairly excluded due to the fact that the vaccine hasn’t been made available to them. Eamonn Kerr: I’m still convinced we will end up with a health passport so if you don’t have the jab, foreign travel, music and sports venues may be a no go - compulsory by stealth. Sue Merli: It’s not compulsory by stealth at all. It’s like people saying to me ‘if you don’t feel safe with people ignoring masks and social distance rules, don’t go out’. Those people are forcing me (and many like me) into isolation. So I say to you, feel free NOT to have a vaccine, it’s your choice.

Jackie Rawstron: a breach of the equalities act to enquire why someone is medically exempt from wearing a mask why is it OK to question whether someone has had an injection or not. Bev Nixon: It may not be compulsory but movement may well be restricted if we don’t have it.

Kev Harrington Boycott: said places then.

Andrew Tipling: And so government must get people to have the jab then so everyone in the country gets it if you no symptoms or ill how

If it is can they stop you and you are separate in pubs etc if not in a bubble.

Tom Brickell: Pubs and other businesses will be that desperate for money they won’t care if you hobble in with leprosy they’ve only shut because they’ve been forced!

Stop speaking unofficially on their behalf in order to blackmail people into having a jab.

BLACKBURN man arrested after pensioner attacked down Hyndburn canal tow path. An attack on a pensioner and three other members of the public took place in Hyndburn down St James Road, Church (page 17):

Tom Brickell:

Bad enough that a walk on the canal is the only exercise and time out of the house some people get and now they’re probably even scared of doing that.

Gillian Parkinson: I go for my daily exercise most days on here, this is awful.
