MR Derek Middleton, known to his family and friends as Del, died suddenly at his home on Saturday, May 1, aged 62.

Derek was the eldest son of Frank and the late Freda, much loved brother of Ray, Keith and Alison, brother-in-law to Hilary, Tracy and Dee; fun loving uncle of Morgan, Jack, Francis and Abi, great-uncle of Freddie and George.

He will also be missed by long time friends Kev, Denise and Andy, the friends he saw almost every day especially Bev, Dave, Kate, Ian, Suzanne, Ste, Michael, Ricky and also his extended family.

Derek was a retired courier and had also worked for many years within the building industries.

He was a keen footballer who adored his team Manchester United; he had a passion for music ranging from Classical to Rock and

Indie and also a passion for old black and white films, real crime and crime dramas and many comedies.

He also loved the crossword in his daily paper and weighing up the odds to place a bet on the horse racing.

Derek will be cremated at Accrington Crematoriu­m on Friday, May 21 at 12.20pm. Due to restrictio­ns, attendance inside the crematoriu­m will be by family invitation only.
