I enjoyed visiting the many different events to commemorate the coronation across the borough.
I especially enjoyed the Picnic in the Park in Great Harwood with the weather being glorious and it brought people together to celebrate.
Now it is well and truly back to reality.
The local elections were a step forward for the Labour Party in the borough.
Hyndburn Labour has rebuilt with a brilliant transformational agenda, winning seats and votes.
We set out this agenda clearly in the recent elections with success.
We want to Build a Better Hyndburn feeding into the Labour national aim of Build a Better Britain.
We are on course for
victory in the next parliamentary election and in the next cycle of local elections and there cannot be any complacency as Hyndburn requires a change after 13 years of Conservative chaos.
The Hyndburn Labour Group I lead is looking forward to working with all stakeholders to deliver on Hyndburn’s objectives to ensure that all decisions are made with the best interests of the residents in mind. We set out an in-depth manifesto which we will continue to refine after more conversation with residents in the townships and areas across the borough.
Finally, I would also like to congratulate and welcome all those who have been elected to serve on the council and to represent their communities.
For me and Hyndburn Labour, the hard work continues.
