‘Wee’ fair returns with big rides

Airdrie’s‘wee’ fair day returns with a vengeance this weekend.

This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever before and kicks-off on Saturday in the town centre at 10am until 4pm.

Stirling Street will be the place to see the fair’s big rides including twister, Miami, fun house, ghost house and much more.

And Advertiser columnist, Edward Reid, will be on stage performing and introducin­g acts including singing sensation Robbi McFaulds.

Community organisati­ons will have a range of stalls, with sports activities organised by NL Leisure and Airdrieoni­ans FC’s Rocky the Rooster making an appearance, with rockabilly music and dance.

There will be kids roundabout­s on Graham Street for the little ones, as well as face painters and glitter artists to keep them occupied and happy.

Petrol heads will be able to see an impressive collection of classic cars on South Bridge Street; with fire fighters in Graham Street showing off their vehicles, old and new, and Tigger, the steam engine will be on display from Summerlee Museum.

Airdrieoni­ans FC Supporters Trust will be hosting a football kit amnesty and the kids can have a hoot at the stunning display of owls and birds of prey.
