Threatened to kill cops

Teen headbutted and kicked officer

- Court reporter

A troubled teenager who threatened to kill cops and headbutted a female officer has been placed under supervision.

Crazed Kerrie Anne Allan breached court conditions by entering her expartner’s home on Morar Crescent, Coatbridge, and was later found there by police.

The aggressive 19-year-old then repeatedly shouted and swore, uttered violent threats and resisted arrest by struggling with officers in attendance.

She later turned her rage on a female cop by headbutting her on the head and kicking her on the body before repeatedly kicking the police vehicle and firing off a sectarian slur at another constable.

Allan’s violent outburst took place on June 19 and after admitting her guilt, the resident of Drumlanrig Avenue in Easterhouse was back at Airdrie Sheriff Court for sentencing last week.

The procurator fiscal told the court about Allan’s reprehensible behaviour on the day of the offence: “The accused and witness had previously been in a relationship for two years that had ended in October 2015.

“The complainer’s girlfriend contacted the police at 2am as she was concerned for his welfare as she had heard, through social media messages, that the accused would be at the house.

“At 7.15am, police attended and the male witness told them he had allowed the accused to stay the night. The accused was then found in a bed at the house.

“She was told she was under arrest and police allowed her time to get dressed. The accused then tried to leave the house and police took her by the arms and attempted to apply handcuffs.

“The accused struggled and shouted, ‘you scummy b*******’ and ‘I’m going to kill you’s’.

“She was placed against a wall so that handcuffs could be applied and she then struck an officer to the right side of the head with a headbutt and kicked her to the lower leg.

“Her behaviour continued in the police vehicle and she shouted ‘you fenian b******’ towards one of the officers.

“The injury suffered was a red and swollen area at the eyebrow area of the officer’s head.”

Mitigating on his client’s behalf, defence solicitor Gary Morton said: “She was given a community payback order in May with a conduct requirement.

“She has certain psychiatric difficulties. Alcohol has been the prevalent aspect of her offending in the past, and anger management is an issue.”

Sheriff Petra Collins then had the following warning for a sheepishlooking Allan: “I will make a community payback order with supervision for a period of 12 months.

“This is a direct alternative to custody so if you breach the order and are brought back to court before me, then I will consider a custodial sentence.

“I will also fix a review [of the order] for August 17 to monitor your progress.”
