Dance the night away

- Andrew Bargh

A Chapelhall newlywed put on her dancing shoes and surprised her husband with an impromptu performance at their wedding.

Blushing bride Nicole Black brought a smile to the faces of guests and her groom, Scott, after secretly planning the routine for the couple’s big day on July 8.

Nicole moved to a medley of popular hits alongside her two bridesmaids, Nicola Frew and Jennifer Andrews, before being joined for the latter part of the routine by close friends Emma McGlinchey and Laura Goodwin - the brains of the display.

Nicole and Laura know each other through the Monklands Light Opera.

The trio of bride and bridesmaids interrupted proceedings at the reception and boogied to one of Nicole’s favourite hits, Crazy in Love by Beyonce.

Emma and Laura then joined to form a quintet, took a quick selfie and continued dancing to several more of Nicole’s favourites.

Laura, of Airdrie, admitted the surprise routine went down a treat with guests.

She added:“Everyone loved it, it was received really well. The groom was so surprised that we managed to keep it a secret

“We wanted Nicole to dance to her favourite songs, so a big thank you to Mark Newbaleese for mixing the tracks together.”

Nicole and Scott have jetted off to the States for a honeymoon to enjoy the sights of New York and the glittering nightlife of Las Vegas.
