Praise from readers on the completion of little Arran’s special sensory garden
The heartwarming tale of the completion of a dream garden project to bring joy to three-yearold Arran Brogan went down well with the Advertiser’s Facebook readers.
Little Arran, who has Down’s Syndrome, was born eight weeks prematurely and underwent open heart surgery when he was just five months old.
Thanks to the help of Airdrieonians Supporters’ Trust member Grant Lambie, and donations from local businesses, Arran gets to wake up every day and enjoy the all-weather Arran’s Garden facility, which includes a sensory hut, sunken trampoline, sand pit and monkey bars.
Christine McCabe had this message for Arran and his mum Mary: “It looks fantastic Mary. Hope you both enjoy it.
“Arran is going to have so much fun playing in his garden.”
David Smeall praised the volunteers and those who contributed: “Well done to the guys involved” – while Gillian Greechan said: “A pleasure to be involved.”
Robert James Rodger added: “Who or what does the Airdrie Supporters’ Trust help next?! You did well, keep it going. Small changes make big differences!”
Robert Craig agreed: “Well done.” Monklands was devastated at the weekend with the news of the tragic death of 13-year-old Kieran McDade, with tributes to him flooding in on our Facebook page.
Gayle Burns Fleming said: “Coatbridge has been hit hard by the news of this lad’s passing. Thinking of the family and friends left behind. I cannot imagine the pain that they are in. Fly high wee man xx.”
Karen Biggart Watt added: “So, so sad, thinking of all the family and friends of a special boy that was taken to soon. RIP.”
Davie Rielly agreed: “Tragic and heartbreaking. I was just down at Dunbeth Park and there are lots of strips, flowers and notes – lovely tribute. God bless and RIP.”
