No live final for Ryan in the X Factor

-

regularly appears on Mock the Week.

He is famous for his one-liners and clever wordplay and was really funny. Stewart was also very helpful and told me about his desire to make great comedy.

He has now joined my pantheon of comedy gods alongside Robin Williams, John Cleese, Jim Carrey and of course Patrick Rolink! I was gutted to discover on Sunday night that my fellow Monklands resident Ryan Lawrie won’t be progressing through to the live finals of the X Factor.

Now, before I say another word I must warn all you X-Factor fans – if there’s any still out there – that I actually don’t like the show. I think it’s silly, boring, generic and well past its sell-by date. However, I’m forced to watch it occasionally as my mum likes it.

But despite my reservations about the format when a local lad as talented as Ryan appears on it you’ve got to lend your support.

First time out he bagged three thumbs up from Simon, Louis and Nicole. But at the weekend his journey came to an abrupt end. Never mind Ryan, it’s the show’s loss. I’m sure with the talent you have you’ll be a big success and last longer than the annual X Factor winners who disappear after a Christmas number one.

Ryan’s appearance did get me thinking if I’d like to be a contestant on the show. Despite being a dab-hand at some Rat Pack numbers I quickly decided that the answer was no. The female attention would be too much to deal with.
