Anyone interested in learning the flute or drums is welcome to attend band practice on Mondays at the congregational church hall on Broomknoll Street from 6pm. Contact John on 07525 064303 for further details on the group.

Social club

Activities this week include Sunday night bingo, with tickets on sale from 8pm and eyes down at 8.30pm. The Lucky Joker draw is made at 8.30pm on Sundays, with tickets on sale from committee members and bar staff. For further information on all of the above see the club notice board.

Training takes place on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 6pm to 7pm in the local community hall. All boys and girls aged four to 10 are welcome along.

Toddlers’ football Children’s committee

are arranging a Bonfire Night event on Friday, November 4. The Christmas pantomime, Dick Whittington, and Christmas party will be held in the social club on Saturday, December 17, and Monday, December 19, respectively. Forms for both are available from the committee or bar staff and should be returned on or before Wednesday, November 30. More details are available on the social club notice board.

Baillies Lane Flute Band practice sessions take place on Tuesdays in the social club from 7pm to 9pm. The group will also welcome new members to attend learner classes on Sundays from 2pm to 4pm. The band are currently in need of experienced drummers.

Councillor Sophia Coyle will hold her next surgery in the village on Wednesday, September 28, in the community hall from 6pm to 6.30pm.

Mondays from noon to 2pm, toddler group for kids from birth-to-threeyears every Tuesday and Thursday from 10am until noon and prize bingo on Tuesdays from 7pm to 9pm. Beavers for six to eight-year-olds meet from 6.15pm to 7.15pm and Cubs for ages eight to 10 from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. The cost for both meetings is £2.50 and youngsters attending are asked to take soft shoes and a drink. A Scout section for boys and girls aged 10-to-14 is run on Mondays in the same venue from 6.45pm to 8.45pm. Call organiser Linda Lafferty on 01236 609515 to find out more information.
