Man gets dressing down in court for behaving so badly

A middle-aged, boozed-up buffoon who kicked a cop on the face before booting the door of a police car has been told by a sheriff to grow up and set a better example to his family.

Foul-mouthed lout Henry Brown began shouting and swearing at officers who tried to place him under arrest at his home on Leaend Road in Whinhall.

He then became violent by kicking out at the constables – striking one male officer on the jaw – before taking out his rage on the police vehicle door, kicking it with such force that he caused it to“bend outwards”.

The disturbing showdown took place on April 16 and Brown, 46, pleaded guilty four months later.

Following a deferral for background reports, Brown resurfaced at Airdrie Sheriff Court recently for sentencing.

The procurator fiscal explained:“Police officers had cause to attend at 12.15am. They were met with the accused’s son, who said his father was in the living room.

“Police spoke with the accused and he began shouting,‘who the f*** are you?’and‘get out of my house’.

“He then pushed the constable and swung his right arm to assault him. He continued to shout and swear and made threats to the officers.

“The accused was placed in the police vehicle and shouted‘ar*******’at the officers and‘get to f***’to his partner.

“He kicked out at the police officers and then kicked the rear-side passenger door with such force he
