Model pupils on catwalk

Academy night of fashion

- Ian Bunting

Young catwalk kings and queens will strut their stuff at Airdrie Academy neaxt week at a fundraising fashion show.

The school’s parent council and personal development class are hosting the Shop to Drop clothes- themed showcase on Thursday, November 10, from 7pm to 9.30pm.

Funds from the show will go towards school projects, including extra equipment and trips, and members of the community are invited along to cast their eyes over – and snap up – the latest fashion trends.

An Airdrie Academy spokesperson said: “We held a fashion show last year in aid of charity Vision Africa and sold nearly 250 tickets.

“We’re hoping even more people can turn out this year and there will be a wide variety of clothes from different high street fashion shops, such as Zara, Next, Topshop and M&S, available on the night.

“The clothes will be modelled by pupils and staff, alongside professional models from the company Shop2drop, and be on offer at discount prices of up to 75 per cent on selected items.

“People can take the clothes home on the night and there will also be a variety of stalls selling raffles, home baking, trinkets, organic bodycare products and Christmas crafts.”

Tickets for the fashion show cost £ 5, which includes tea, coffee and cakes, and are available from the school office or by calling 01236 757675 or emailing School_ Office@airdrie.n-lanark.sch.uk.

The event and clothes “are targeted for those aged 16 and over” and people can take their own refreshments.
