Readers slam nursery play area vandals and pay tribute to Coatbridge man Sean
Appalled Advertiser Facebook readers hit out at the heartless vandals responsible for wrecking the outdoor play area at Kirkshaws Primary School’s nursery.
Heartbroken children returned after the October holiday to discover their beloved play facility in ruins, with the cold-hearted culprits smashing up mirrors, breaking a door and damaging other items including chalkboards.
Leanne Speirs slammed the vandals: “It’s just sick that people think this is a giggle or fun to do to our young kids. They were so gutted when it happened.”
Cathy MacDonald posted: “This is absolutely shocking doing this to nursery or school children! No respect for anybody’s property. Hope these thugs get caught.”
Elaine Bolger said: “It’s ridiculous. My wee granddaughter is at the nursery there . Appalled at this kind of behaviour.”
Daniella Cupples agreed: “How can they do this to little innocent children? Honestly, how sad their lives must be. The poor kids.”
Peter Haining didn’t hold back in his assessment of the culprits: “Scum of the earth.”
Curtis Shorter added: “This is such a shame for the kids at the nursery. Who would do such a thing? It’s just so senseless.”
Our Facebook readers were saddened to hear of the news that the body of missing Coatbridge man Sean McKenna was found last Thursday night.
The 40-year-old was discovered in the town’s Woodend Loch, bringing the near three-week community-wide search for Sean to a tragic end.
Clive Whiteside said: “Thoughts are with the family and friends at this difficult time.”
Marissa DiNardo commented: “So very, very sad. Thoughts and prayers for his family and friends. RIP Sean.”
