Hundreds of New College Lanarkshire students have celebrated completing their studies at a glittering graduation ceremony.

Graduates from the college’s Coatbridge Campus were among those honoured at the event in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Friday, November 4.

Almost 600 students were joined by their family, friends, invited guests and local politicians to recognise their success.

Certificates and diplomas were handed out at two ceremonies. A ceremony was held at 11am for the faculties of Computing & Creating Industries or Care & Science. And at 4pm an event was held for the faculties of Business, Social Science & Sport, Engineering & Automotive, Service Industries or Supported Programmes.

Five students received an Award for Academic Excellence, with each receiving a cheque of £200 from sponsors Ede & Ravenscroft.

And two students who scored 100 per cent in their final assessment received SQA awards for the highest graded unit.

Martin McGuire, principal and chief executive of New College Lanarkshire, told the Advertiser: “It is an honour to celebrate the hard work and dedication shown by our students at this high point in our academic calendar.

“On behalf of all staff of New College Lanarkshire, I would like to congratulate each and every one of our graduates on their success in attaining their chosen qualification.

“I wish them the greatest luck for the future as they begin their journey into the workplace or further studies.” Pictured are some of this year’s winners. And below is a full list of the college’s Coatbridge Campus graduates.
