Tijuana Bibles all ready to rock at the Gig for Clinton

-

Coatbridge band Tijuana Bibles will take to the stage tomorrow night as part of the line-up for a fundraising gig.

The Monklands four-piece will perform at Gig for Clinton, a night organised by the family of three-year-old Moodiesburn toddler, Clinton Pringle, who died in June after being run over by a car in Jersey.

The band will join other acts Button Up, Amanda Bogel and Azure Halo.

Clinton’s dad, Michael, a former reporter at the Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser, and his wife Stacey, a nursery teacher in Coatbridge, have been relentlessly fundraising since Clinton’s tragic death.

Together they have handed over more than £17,300 to CHAS’Robin House to help children who suffer from life-shortening illnesses.

Not only that, they have also raised thousands more for other charities and are now in the process of setting up a trust to help families bereaved in tragic circumstances leave a legacy in their children’s name.

Michael added:“Losing your child is without doubt the worst thing that can happen to you.

“It’s devastating and even more so when it is sudden like in Clinton’s case.

“We were touched by the goodwill shown to us by people who had never met us, as well as from our friends.

“As a parent you don’t want your child to be forgotten and we are going to try to make a difference in Clinton’s name by helping families leave not only a memorial but something useful to help people remember their child.”

Tickets for Gig for Clinton cost £10 and are available from Tickets Scotland or by calling Michael on 07921 128887.
