Nominate NHS heroes for awards
Recognition for area’s top employees and volunteers
Nominations are now open for the second annual NHS Lanarkshire staff awards, allowing p at i e n t s , staff and colleagues to recognise outstanding workers and volunteers.
The available categories a re for outstanding individual, team, volunteer, and care; plus “innovation in practice” and service improvement.
Awards will be presented at a ceremony in May; nominations can be made at www. nhslanarkshire. org. uk, by calling 01698 377790 or by completing a form available from local healthcare sites, until the closing date of December 31.
Monklands medics won seven prizes at this year’s inaugural awards, including the chairperson’s prize for Monklands Hospital oncology nurse Teresa Rennie, outstanding team for the Airdrie hospital’s A& E staff, and the outstanding care award for its clinical director of surgical services, Andrew Carton.
NHS Lanarkshire chief executive Calum Campbell said: “There are so many unsung heroes among our hard-working and dedicated staff and volunteers.
“I’m sure we’ll see the same level of enthusiasm from the public and our colleagues this year as we again highlight the exceptional standard of care staff provide on a daily basis.
“The award categories pay special attention to those who go the extra mile to deliver outstanding services and those who provide exceptional personcentred care, recognise teams and individuals who are innovative and those who continuously improve, and highlight the importance of our volunteers.”
