Dream Barras gig with legends

-

Lanarkshire band The Trend are gearing up for their biggest gig yet – supporting The Complete Stone Roses and Definitely Oasis at the world famous Glasgow Barrowland.

The Britpop-influenced quartet, half of whom hail from East Kilbride, were honoured to be asked to join the bill with one of the UK’s best known and most successful tributes to Mancunian legends The Stone Roses and Oasis.

It will be the biggest crowd the foursome has played to date.

Lead singer Ryan Malone told Lanarkshire Live this week: “Its been great playing gigs down south but we really can’t wait to play to a home crowd again, especially at a venue as iconic as the Barras. “It’s gonna be magic!” Original members Ryan Malone, 22, (lead singer) and Del Greig, 26, (guitarist), from East Kilbride, were joined by Jonny Carroll, 27, from Castlemilk (bassist) and 19-yearold drummer Josh Carmichael, from Houston.

Since then, they have gigged up and down the UK citing influences from The Stone Roses, Oasis, The Clash and recently reformed East Kilbride legends The Jesus and Mary Chain.

The Trend have also just been signed to emerging independent record label Sound-Hub and are set to start recording new material in the next few weeks.

Ryan added: “We’re really excited to be working with the label and to get back into the studio.”

The Trend will be opening for The Complete Stone Roses and Definitely Oasis at the Barrowlands this Saturday, November 26.

Tickets £18.50 through the bands own online store at thetrendglasgow.bigcartel.com Something to Shout About is available to download now.
