Coatbridge- born stylist Taylor Ferguson has been helping a Miss World contestant to ensure her crowning glory is looking its best.

He and his team worked with Miss Scotland title- holder Lucy Kerr ahead of her month-long trip to Washington, where the final of the global beauty pageant takes place next weekend.

Taylor has looked after Miss Scotland winners for 14 years, and he and his team have been giving Lucy, 19, expert advice on how to style her tresses.

He said: “Lucy is blessed with the most gorgeous long, flowing, flamecoloured locks and we’ve ensured her hair is in optimum condition, with maintenance trims to keep the ends in good shape.

“We’ve been sharing advice with her on how to keep her hair looking fabulous without over-exposing it to an excess of heat with straighteners, which can dry out hair.

“Lucy is a great girl and will be a stunning ambassador for Scotland – we’re hoping she can do great things in Washington DC in the Miss World finals, and we wanted to make sure she’s comfortable with knowing what’s needed to ensure the look is in winning form on the big night.”

Taylor added: “We’ve worked with more than a dozen Miss Scotland winners and we always have great fun.

“We love seeing their confidence Picture by Andy Barr/Catwalk Academy.
