Firm’s job installing parkland security for Duke

- Judith Tonner

Coatbridge firm King Communications & Security took on a task fit for royalty as they helped fit out facilities at a parkland.

They installed more than 50 security cameras at Dalkeith country park, during a £7m redevelopment of the 1000- acre site – an estate of Dalkeith Palace, which is owned by the Duke of Buccleuch.

It included installing equipment at the park’s ornate A- listed building dating back to the 1700s; as well as a total of more than 1.2 kilometres of cabling connecting different parts of the complex, including a visitors’ kiosk, nursery, laundry and stables.

The Coatbridge firm, based at Dundyvan industrial estate, also provided door entry systems, access control, video management software and alarm facilities.

King Communications & Security director Martyn King said: “The project has been a fantastic opportunity to work with a unique piece of Scottish heritage.”

Buccleuch Property associate director James Palmer added: “Connectivity and security have been a prime factor in the new services.

“King Communications & Security’s expertise have provided multiple benefits to visitors, staff and estate residents, and in securing the architectural heritage of this wonderful landscape and many listed properties.”
