Murray’s award builds on success

A Coatbridge-based constructi­on boss has scooped an accolade for excellence at an awards ceremony.

Murray Grierson, site manager of Barratt Homes’Parklands developmen­t, won the Seal of Excellence plaudit for his work at the NHBC Pride in the Job awards.

The trophy is awarded to managers who display exceptiona­l levels of achievemen­t in delivering high-quality homes in the UK.

The 48-year-old, a joiner to trade, was selected from more than 16,000 site managers and was one of just 11 to be recognised at the event.

Mr Grierson said:“There’s great satisfacti­on in receiving this award for the second time in my career and being part of a winning team.

“It’s gratifying because we had a relatively young team and I was able to nurture them throughout the project and bring them along.

“Barratt is really focused on developing its people and in addition to winning this award I was responsibl­e for the developmen­t of a new trainee who has now graduated to become an assistant manager.”

“He’s worked incredibly hard to achieve it and I’m delighted to see his efforts recognised.

“He leads a well motivated and organised team.”
