Laura is cream of crop in make-up awards

Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser columnist Laura Dawson is made up to have been nominated for a prestigious award.
Laura, who writes our popular monthly Powder Room feature, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Make Up Artist of the year Glasgow Region category at the Scottish Wedding Awards 2017.
The awards, which celebrate the best of the Scottish wedding industry, recognise and reward excellence in all aspects of the business - from make up and hair artists to florists and wedding planners.
Laura, who has contributed Powder Room for 18 months, could also be in the running to scoop the prize for overall winner of the Make up Artist of the year category should she win the regional honour.
She is thrilled to have made it into the final alongside some of the very best artists in the country and said: “I’m delighted to be nominated for the second year in a row.
“It means so much to know that clients have been voting for me as a worthy nominee. It makes all the hard work worthwhile.
“It’s amazing to be recognised and I’m very proud.”
To enter the competition, make up artists, dress makers, florists, photographers, caterers, and other wedding service providers throughout Scotland have been nominated for awards by clients who feel they were given exceptional service.
And the nominees will have to wait nervously at a glittering bash in the Crowne Plaza, Glasgow, on Monday to see who will take home the honours.
Laura is already planning her glamorous look for the evening and added: “Award shows are a great excuse to get glammed up and are always so much fun.
“I really hope that in next month’s Powder Room I will be sharing some fantastic news with the Advertiser’s readers.”
