Praise for caring teen who collected four-figure sum for her dad’s funeral
Readers on the Advertiser’s Facebook page have lined up to praise caring Coatbridge teenager Courtney Hutchison.
The 18-year-old student has raised more than £2000 to help pay for the funeral of her dad, Derek, who passed away suddenly last month while living in Airdrie’s homeless unit aged just 42.
Alan Gilmour commented: “Good for you Courtney, your dad was a lucky man to have had a daughter like you. You’ve done him proud.”
Donna Higgins agreed: “Well done doll, your dad will be so proud of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you.”
Martin Be added: “Good for Courtney, she should be very proud of herself.”
Heather Delgreco posted: “God bless you Courtney.”
Claire Tyson said: “What a lovely gesture from Courtney and a fitting tribute to her dad’s memory. He will be looking down on her with a huge smile.”
Our Facebook readers took a very dim view, however, of crooked Carnbroe mum Kerryanne Clarke, who was jailed for three years for pocketing almost £400,000 from her bosses that lead to dozens of colleagues being made redundant.
Clarke, 38, transferred funds from Elmwood Construction Services Ltd into her personal accounts across more than 360 transactions.
Elaine McMath Patrick posted: “Oh my god, those poor people lost their jobs because of greed to allow her to have a nice, fancy lifestyle!!”
Lesley Bowen added: “Bet she doesn’t think about any of the poor folk who lost their jobs because of her greed!”
Kerry Hughes Syme gave this opinion: “Feel for all the people that lost their jobs, but also for her poor children.”
John McCormack hit out at the sentence handed down to Clarke: “It’s a shocker, not much of a deterrent is it?”
Morsie Puffin agreed: “The sentencing is a joke.”
