Youngsters began their time at Chapelside Primary back in 1991.

The Airdrie school pupils’school photo appeared in the September 20 Advertiser.

They were settling in“very nicely” and beginning to make new friends in the classroom and the playground.

Pictured with the pupils are class teachers Sandra Andrews (left) and Margaret Wilson.

Mrs Andrews and Mrs Wilson wished them all well for the year ahead.

Advertiser readers who recognise themselves or old friends in our archive school photos can email ian.bunting@trinitymirror. com to share school memories.

People can also send old class photos, including as much information as possible and a daytime contact number, to the same address. Monklands Provost Eddie Cairns (centre) pours tea at Chapelhall’s annual treat for senior citizens.

The Provost and his wife were the guests of honour at the event, which was held in Chapelhall Community Centre.

Mr Cairns was only too happy to do the honours and present a cup of tea to the village’s oldest resident, 86-year-old Jennie Gemmell (left).

Jennie thanked the Provost for his kindness and enjoyed being around good friends at the event.

Also pictured is senior citizens’ committee president John Cushley (right), who was a huge part of the annual treat’s organisation.

Mr Cairns and Mr Cushley went round to meet all of the guests and also provided them with some home baking.
