Photography award a real skoosh for Koosh
Wedding title
An Airdrie photographer scooped a top accolade at an industry awards ceremony in Glasgow.
South Bridge Street snapper Robert Koosh of Koosh Photography won the south- west photographer of the year category at the Scottish Wedding Awards, held in the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Robert told the Advertiser: “It was great to win because it was our brides who nominated us for the awards.
“It’s good to know that I’m doing something they like. It was a really tough category and there is some great talent around Lanarkshire. Some of those have over 15 years’ experience.”
Now in their fifth year, the awards are voted for by the public.
Robert said: “We are always evolving our style and it’s amazing to be up against such talented people, celebrating everyone’s success.
“The best thing was seeing how other people work as they come from all walks of life. Normally as a photographer it’s a solitary business and it’s not often you get the chance to see how other people are doing it.”
In January the 35-year-old narrowly missed out on being crowned the photographer of the year at the Scottish Confetti Wedding Awards and was delighted to go one better and be recognised this time round.
The event also raised funds for the Well Foundation.
