Broadband pledge

Monklands homes and businesses will benefit from superfast broadband coverage thanks to the Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband project.

Cabinet secretary for finance and constitution Derek Mackay announced that an additional £ 15.6m will be spent on the programme.

Work is under way to be complete by December next year, with 98.6 per cent of North Lanarkshire having access to fibre broadband, including commercial coverage that is assumed to be in operation by that time.
