Saturday night sadly saw Coatbridge singer Craig Ward’s journey on TV talent show The Voice come to an end as he bowed out at the competitio­n’s semi-final stage, but Kerry Elliot hailed his performanc­e: “Top stuff from Craig. He is a natural star and he should have made the final.”

Peter Walker treated his mum to a special Mother’s Day surprise: “Took mum out for a slap-up meal before a drive along the coast in the sunshine #mothersday.”

There’s always one unfortunat­e soul who forgets to change their clocks when summer time arrives, with Sally McGregor starting Sunday a bit behind the rest of us: “Can’t believe I didn’t change the clocks last night. Now running late for lunch with friends!”

Brilliant bakers at Townhead school St Bartholome­w’s Primary did their bit for a great cause: “P1 organised a cake sale in aid of Sciaf. It was a great success. Thanks to our P7 buddies for their help selling – it got very busy!”

Kevin Gilmartin was struggling at the weekend: “Feeling utterly rubbish. Lurgy has been threatenin­g since Friday, finally struck this morning.”

Scotland supporters finally had something to celebrate after the team’s dramatic 1-0 win over Slovenia, which pleased Mark Devlin: “What a finish! Have to build on it now.”
