Family needs help

A close relative seeks information on John Spence junior, born September 24 1909 in Long Row, Swinton, Lanarkshire; the son of John Spence senior, a coal miner, and Margaret McCann (she later remarried to Harry Corrins).

John junior was a coal sales man and married Janet Hardie in 1932 at St. Michael’s Church in Carntyne.

He died aged 37 in Glasgow Royal Infirmary in 1947. Janet was then living at 333 Westmuir Street, Shettleston.

It is believed he and Janet had two daughters; by now they maybe in their 70s or 80s, and may have links to the Advertiser’s area.

I would love to hear from anyone who may have memories of the people mentioned, or even better any surviving children or descendants of John and Janet Spence to exchange information with.
