Ramblers set for first walk in April

The next Monklands Ramblers trek will see them take a walk through the Amulree Circular near Angus - and they hope new members will join in the fun.

They will take on the nine mile walk from Glen Fender to Loch Freuchie on Sunday, April 2.

The circular route is graded B and will have the usual pick-up points.

The bus will be in Coatbridge behind the Time Capsule at 8.30am.

It will then travel to the Aldi car park near the Ten Pin Bowling Alley in Airdrie, opposite the train station, at 8.40am. Alan Russel will lead the group . To book a place contact Alan on 01236 602757.

The sun was shining for the group’s last walk, a 10-mile trek from Romanno Bridge to Peebles, and they are hopeful of another good turnout for the first walk of the month.
