BAND BOOST

Coatbridge High pupils were rocking out as they made beautiful music together at North Lanarkshire’s Battle of the Bands.

The prestigious event, held in Motherwell Civic Centre, included turns from youngsters from nine secondary schools, with Coatbridge High’s troupe reaching the final.

The band expertly performed a version of hit song Valerie and an original composition called Follow Me, with lead vocalist Brook McFadyen (pictured, fourth from left) scooping best solo performance.
