It’s Only the End of the World (15)

A real love it or hate it film this one – and I fall more on the latter side of the fence.

It is not awful, but sitting watching a family full of unlikable characters row with each other for 97 minutes is hard going.

Tension does build throughout, but chances are you will not care enough to see it through to the end.

Catfight (15)

Sandra Oh and Anne Heche play warring former best friends in this bizarre comedydram­a.

The pair give committed turns as they butt heads, but are hampered by their vile, difficult to root for protagonis­ts.

Writer-director Onur Tukel’s latest movie outing does, however, pack a pretty forceful satirical punch.

The Void (18)

Horror’s current obsession with paying tribute to eighties’ fright flicks continues with a gore fest that’s full of surprises.

An impending apocalypse looms large over Jeremy Gillespie and Steven Kostanski’s peculiar beast.

If you like your horror bloody and full of gloopy effects then The Void will be right up your street.

Story wise, however, it takes a while to get going and the cast do not amount to much more than cannon fodder.

But Gillespie and Kostanski sure know how to film images that shock and linger long in your brain for days.
