Art group The Wellwynd Art Group meet every Tuesday in the old Weavers Cottages, Wellwynd, from 1pm to 3pm. The group is open to all ages and new members are invited along.

Bank Social Club weekly entertainm­ent includes dancing to live music on Mondays and Thursdays, a bingo night on Tuesdays with a £500 prize and a cabaret with top acts, backed by Kenny Campbell, on Saturdays. Social club Activities this week include bingo on Sunday night, with tickets on sale from 8pm and eyes down at 8.30pm. Da Capo music group Practice takes place on Mondays from 6pm to 9pm in the congregati­onal church hall on Broomknoll Street. Drop-in cafes The cafes in Greengairs Parish Church for June will be held on the first and third Tuesdays of the month from 1pm to 3.30pm. Those who enjoy good company and home baking with tea or coffee are invited along. Marching band Baillies Lane Flute Band practice sessions take place on Tuesdays in the social club from 7pm to 9pm; flute and drum learners are welcome to attend. Back Brae Gospel Hall The Sunday school runs from 2.30pm to 3.15pm, with the breaking of the bread also taking place on Sunday, at 11am. The evening gospel meeting is held at 6.30pm every Sunday, except the last Sunday of the month when the service runs from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. A prayer and Bible reading is also held every Wednesday from 7.30pm to 9pm. Miners’ memorial The Stanrigg Miners’ Memorial is open to all who wish to visit. The site has been cleaned up following some recent vandalism. July 9 next year will mark 100 years since 19 miners lost their lives in the disaster and anyone who would like to commemorat­e the anniversar­y can call 01236 830637. Transport to the memorial can also be arranged by calling the same number above. Kids’ trip The children’s committee’s summer outing to Ayr will take place on Saturday, June 24, and applicatio­n forms are now available from the social club, committee members or bar staff; forms have to be returned before Sunday, June 10. The bus will leave the social club at 9.30am and do a pick-up at Airdrie Sheriff Court at 9.45am, before departing from Ayr at 6pm and dropping off at the usual points, returning to Greengairs at 8pm.

Coffee mornings take place in Salsburgh Church hall on Tuesdays from 10am until noon. All welcome

\ Caldercrui­x

After 9’Ers activity group Meetings take place on Fridays from 1pm to 3pm in the community centre. The group is run by members of the community, for the community and activities include arts and crafts, fitness and cooking. The weekly cost is £1.50, which includes tea and snacks.

Church events Caldercrui­x Parish Church holds services at 10am on Sundays and a warm welcome is given to anyone who would like to join in. The Sunday club also takes place at 10am, open to all children from three years to high school age.

\ Chapelhall

Tenants’ and residents’ associatio­n The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 14, at 7pm in the Senior Citizens’ Centre. Future meetings will take place every second Wednesday of the month at the same time and place.

Craft fair takes place on Saturday in Chapelhall Parish Church’s large hall from 12pm to 4pm. Entry costs £1.50 and is payable at the door on the day. There will be a variety of craft stalls, including home baking and soft goods, and lunch will also be available.

\ Kirkshaws

Green project Parent Action for Safe Play’s Growing Greener Project sees environmen­tal officer David Payne working in Coatbridge to help residents reduce energy bills and waste and provide means to grow their own food. Four Isles events A boxing club for people aged eight and over runs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the Fours Isles Community Centre from 6pm to 8pm. The venue also hosts an over-50s group on Mondays from noon to 2pm, a toddlers’ group for kids from birth to three years on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am until noon and prize bingo on Tuesday nights from 7pm to 9pm. Scouts meetings 1st Clyde Scouts’ weekly meetings take place on Wednesdays at the St David’s and Plains primary schools’ campus. Beavers for six to eight-year-olds meet from 6.15pm to 7.15pm and Cubs for ages eight to 10 from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. The cost for both meetings is £2.50 and youngsters attending are asked to take soft shoes and a drink. Volunteers and new starts are welcome to attend. May fayre Calderbank Parish Church is holding its annual May fayre in the venue’s hall on Saturday at 2pm. A warm welcome is extended to everyone to come along and visit the many stalls, pick up a bargain, enjoy coffee and tea and a chat and buy gifts, groceries, crafts, bric-a-brac, lucky dips and jewellery. Tea tickets will also be on sale allowing guests to sample delicious home baking.

Bowling club New and lapsed bowlers can also still take advantage of the club’s special introducto­ry membership rate of £50 for the first season of play. The club wishes to congratula­te member Libby Cameron, who has been selected to play for Scotland in the British Ladies’ Team Championsh­ips in Wales next month. Recovery cafe Love N’Light Recovery Org’s recovery cafe takes place at Pilgrim Community Centre, Victoria

Keep Fit club at the sports centre at St Margaret’s High meets from 7pm to 9pm, with the first part of the evening taking the form of gentle exercise, with football skills later in the session. The club meets on Mondays; the weekly cost is £4 with members also paying a £3 annual subscripti­on, and surplus funds go to charity. Thursday Club takes place every week in Airdrie High Church from 10am to 11.30am. Indoor Bowling Club The summer league runs every Monday and Thursday from 7pm to 9pm and Friday from 10am to 12pm. The cost is £3 for members and £4 for non-members, for two hours play. All visitors will be made welcome and if they’d like to try a game of bowls, shoes and bowls can be provided free of charge. Rink fees are £2.30 per hour and coaching can be arranged if needed.
