Duo host summer sessions
Help from PASP
Summer is very much upon us and an intrepid Coatbridge duo are offering cyclists and gardeners some expert free advice to make the most of the warmer months.
Toni Gar s y t h a n d David Payne of Kirkshaws community group Parent Action for Safe Play (PASP) host Bikeability and Grow Your Own Food sessions at the Scarhill Street- based organisation.
David said: “I teach the Bikeability sessions, which is a national standard of cycling proficiency available to both adults and children.
“Whether you are a complete beginner, needing to gain confidence, desiring better health or wishing to save money on your daily commute, I can teach you how to enjoy cycling.” Meanwhile David’s greenfingered colleague Toni focuses her efforts on teaching people to grow their own fruit and vegetables.
Toni can regularly be found digging away in PASP’s popular community garden and urged locals to join her in the sunshine.
She said: “It’s all about encouraging local food production.
“If you have a private garden or are an organisation needing help for the process we can assist.
“We will rotovate an area and teach you the growing process, and people can even volunteer in gardens.”
