Charity shop plea

- Judith Tonner

A Coatbridge charity shop launched an appeal for donations after booming business saw their stock levels drastically reduce.

Barnardo’s are looking for donations, particularly toys and women’s clothes, especially dresses and tops, for their Paddock Street premises.

They have seen customers flocking to the unit in Carnbroe.

Area business manager William Far rell said: “Business has been so good that we’re running low on stock.

“I’m certainly not complaining.

“We do like to keep our rails full and offer a good selection of clothes and toys to our customers and more stock is urgently needed.”

He added: “It’s unusual this early into the season, as we don’t normally appeal for donations in May.

“But managers in a few areas are reporting that they’re running a bit low on stock so we’re putting out an appeal to the public to bring their donations to our stores when they’re clearing their wardrobes and drawers.”

Barnardo’s are also offering a collection service, until June 23 for anyone who donates five or more filled black bags to the Coatbridge shop.

Collections can be arranged by emailing william.farrell@barnardos. org.uk with a description of the items included.
