Football skills for schoolkids

Young Monklands footballers are being given the chance to hone their skills with action-packed camps this weekend.

Youngsters aged from P1 to 16 years can learn top tips from SFA-qualified coaches on the outdoor surfaces at Ravenscraig from May 26 to 29.

Nicky Laughlin, football development officer, said:“Our school holiday camps have been really popular, with all the players having a great time practicing and playing games.

“Sessions are tailored so players can improve their technique, ball control, passing, shooting, dribbling and increase their fitness levels throughout.

“Parents can leave their children to be looked after by our skilled and enthusiastic coaching team as they improve their game, build new friendships and enjoy exercising.”
