Coatbridge pensioner Michael Irvine was “as pleased as punch” to collect a prize courtesy of the Advertiser.

As our latest Prime Cuts competition winner a delighted Michael could not believe it when he learned of his good fortune.

Michael, who collected his meaty prize with his son, also Michael, was “over the moon” when Ferguson’s owner Graeme Johnston presented him with a plateful of goodies at his Buchanan Street shop.

The thrilled 69- year- old told the Advertiser: “I’m amazed to hear that I’ve won the competition.

“It’s a fantastic prize and I intend to share it with my son and my friends.”
