Craigburn search for players

- Sports reporter

Airdrie Ladies continued their push for top spot in Central Division Two with a 13-0 win over Broxburn.

The Diamonds came into the game in good form, holding on to second spot and with a hardfought 3-0 win over Linlithgow Rose the previous week and just three-points behind league leaders Blackburn.

In contrast, their West Lothian rivals had shipped 13 goals in their last two games and badly needed points to move away from the foot of the table.

Broxburn were unable to field a full starting 11 and kicked off the game with just ten players.

Hat- tricks for Kimberley Gilmour, Cheryl Watt and Hayley Mitchell contributed to the goals haul against a Broxburn team who stuck to their task but to no avail.

The Airdrie Ladies played some excellent football at the Excelsior and kept the pressure on the teams around them.

Blackburn, who have won all of their games, are the only side keeping the Diamonds in second spot and will travel to New Broomfield next month.

● Next up for the Airdrie Ladies is the re- arranged North Lanarkshire derby with Motherwell.

The kick- off time is still to be confirmed for the tie at Ravenscraig on June 18.

They then face another crunch game as second faces third when the Glasgow Girls travel to the Excelsior on June 25. Craigburn Boys Club 2004s are looking for players born in 2004 to strengthen for next season. They will be holding trials over the next few weeks.

Anyone interested should contact Scott on 07932930757 as soon as possible. There are limited spaces to fill.

● Box Soccer will be running a number of training camps throughout the summer holidays in Coatbridge.

The first will kick off on Monday, July 10, with more dates available throughout July and August. Classes run from 10am to 3pm.
