Safe play group turns 21
Parent Action for Safe Play (PASP) has turned 21 – and the popular Kirkshaws community group rounded up an impressive array of guests to join them in a fun-filled birthday bash.
For the last two decades, the dedicated organisation has served the local community by running a series of activities and initiatives for children and young people.
From their Scarhill Street base, the group has been at the forefront of developing a strong bond with residents and has captured the imaginations of people of all ages.
Those residents were among many guests to give something back to PASP during its 21st anniversary celebrations.
Council leader Jim Logue and International Play Association president Theresa Casey gave appreciative speeches hailing PASP’s work and pupils from local schools St Mary’s and St Patrick’s primaries and Buchanan High – many of whom enjoy the activities on offer from PASP – were on hand.
Representatives from Children In Need – including Pudsey Bear – thanked PASP for collecting an astonishing £300,000 for the charity since 1997.
Proud PASP development manager Julie Atkin said:“It’s absolutely wonderful that we are able to celebrate 21 years of PASP.
“We’d like to thank everyone who played a part in our anniversary events for their help, and kind words.
“The group has gone from strength to strength and I’d like to thank our brilliant team, without whom none of this would be possible. “Here’s to another 21 years!” To find out more about what PASP has to offer, call 01236 426737 or visit http://pasp.org. uk/
