Children’s trip The summer outing to Ayr, run by the children’s committee, will take place this Saturday. The bus will leave the social club at 9.30am and make a further pick-up at Airdrie Sheriff Court at 9.45am, before departing from Ayr at 6pm and dropping off at the usual points, returning to Greengairs at 8pm.

Social club Activities this week include bingo on Sunday night, with tickets on sale from 8pm and eyes down at 8.30pm. The Lucky Joker is drawn at 8.25pm on Sundays. Tickets cost £1 and support the children’s committee, and are on sale throughout the week from committee members and bar staff. For further information on all of the above, see the club noticeboard.

Drop-in cafe in Greengairs Parish Church will be held on Tuesday, July 4, from 1pm to 3.30pm. All are welcome to attend and enjoy good company and home baking with tea or coffee. Stanrigg miners’ memorial is open to all who wish to visit. July 9 2018 will mark 100 years since 19 miners lost their lives in the disaster; anyone who would like to commemorate the anniversary can call 01236 830637. Transport to the memorial can also be arranged by calling the same number. Da Capo music group Practice takes place on Mondays from 6pm to 9pm in the new venue of the Orange hall on Baillies Lane. Anyone interested in learning the flute or drums is welcome to attend; contact John on 07525 064303 to find out further details. Marching band Baillies Lane Flute Band practice sessions take place on Tuesdays in the social club from 7pm to 9pm; flute and drum learners are welcome to attend. Back Brae Gospel Hall Sunday school runs from 2.30pm to 3.15pm, with the breaking of the bread also taking place on Sunday, at 11am. The evening gospel meeting is held at 6.30pm every Sunday, except the last Sunday of the month when the service runs from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. A prayer and Bible reading is also held every Wednesday from 7.30pm to 9pm.
